INUTW ‘Our Village’ CBD- Amplifying Indigenous Peoples’ voices to advocate for protection of biodiversity and cultural diversity and demand action at COP15

We demand #Action, no more empty promises.

This year on our way to #COP15 we continue to stand in solidarity with indigenous peoples and local communities. Along with our partners, we demand the recognition of land rights. We demand that the intervention in territories must have free, prior, and informed consent. We demand direct access to climate funding and the protection of life. We demand the incorporation of traditional knowledge in climate change strategies. We demand protection of biological and cultural diversity.

As we gather this year in Montreal, we embrace the voices of Indigenous leaders, artists, youth, and activists and invite you all to do the same. Throughout the Conference on Biological Diversity (COP15) we will be amplifying these voices through our INUTW ‘Our Village’ Program.

Our mission is to ensure cultural and biological diversity, amplify storytelling created in indigenous territories by indigenous peoples, and urge the implementation of the 5 demands at COP15:

  1. Land Rights
  2. Free, prior, and informed consent
